]]>Dermal fillers have become increasingly popular in recent years as a non-surgical option for rejuvenating the face and reducing the signs of aging. Many people are curious about the duration of the results and how long they can expect their dermal filler treatment to last. In this article, we will explore the different factors that can affect the longevity of dermal fillers and also discuss the duration of various types of dermal fillers.
Dermal fillers are injectable substances that are used to add volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are commonly made of hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, or poly-L-lactic acid. These substances occur naturally in the body and are safe to use as fillers.
There are different types of dermal fillers available, each with its own unique properties and indications. Hyaluronic acid fillers are the most commonly used fillers and are known for their natural-looking results. Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers stimulate the production of collagen in the skin, providing long-lasting results. Poly-L-lactic acid fillers work by stimulating collagen production over time and are often used for deep wrinkles and volume loss.
Dermal fillers work by plumping up the skin and filling in wrinkles and lines. When injected under the skin, they add volume and stimulate collagen production in the treated area. This helps to restore youthful contours and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The results are immediate and can last anywhere from several months to a few years, depending on various factors.
When it comes to dermal fillers, many might be surprised to learn that dentists can be one of the best professionals to consult. Dentists spend years studying the anatomy, physiology, and intricate structures of the face, particularly the oral region. This profound understanding allows them to have an exceptional grasp of facial esthetics, muscle functions, and how different treatments might affect the overall facial appearance. Additionally, their daily work requires precise injections and a gentle touch, skills that are directly translatable to administering dermal fillers.
Moreover, dentists are trained to prioritize patient comfort, especially when performing potentially uncomfortable procedures. Their expertise in local anesthesia ensures that the application of dermal fillers is as pain-free as possible. Plus, with their comprehensive knowledge of potential side effects or complications linked to facial treatments, they can provide holistic care that considers both aesthetics and health. Opting for a dentist for dermal fillers combines the assurance of medical expertise with a nuanced approach to facial beauty.
The metabolism of an individual can greatly affect the longevity of dermal fillers. People with a faster metabolism may break down the filler more quickly, resulting in a shorter duration of results. On the other hand, those with a slower metabolism may see the effects of the filler lasting longer.
The type of dermal filler used also plays a role in how long the results last. Hyaluronic acid fillers typically last between 6 to 12 months, while calcium hydroxylapatite fillers can last up to 18 months. Poly-L-lactic acid fillers have the longest duration and can last up to two years or more.
Dentists possess a unique set of skills when it comes to injection techniques, honed by years of training and daily practice. Here’s a closer look at why their expertise stands out:
Precision and Depth: Dentists routinely administer injections in and around the mouth, an area with a dense network of nerves, blood vessels, and muscles. Their ability to accurately gauge the depth and angle of an injection is paramount to avoid complications and ensure effective anesthesia or treatment. This precision is directly transferable when administering dermal fillers, ensuring the product is delivered to the exact depth required for optimal results.
Comfort and Minimizing Pain: Dentists are adept at making potentially uncomfortable procedures as painless as possible. They know the techniques to stretch the skin or distract the patient, making the needle’s entry smoother. Their expertise in local anesthesia also ensures that any discomfort during procedures like dermal filler applications is minimized.
Understanding of Facial Anatomy: A dentist’s comprehensive knowledge of facial anatomy, especially around the oral and peri-oral region, provides them with an unparalleled understanding of where and how to inject. They’re acutely aware of the locations of crucial facial structures, ensuring injections are both safe and effective.
Aseptic Technique: Dentists are trained in maintaining strict hygiene and aseptic techniques to prevent infections. This sterile approach is critical for any injection procedure to avoid complications.
Holistic Approach: When a dentist administers an injection, they aren’t just looking at the injection site. They consider the entire face, ensuring that the outcome is not just effective, but also harmonious with the patient’s overall facial aesthetics.
In essence, the refined injection technique of dentists, combined with their deep understanding of facial structures, makes them uniquely qualified to administer treatments that require precision, safety, and an eye for aesthetics.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are the most commonly used type of dermal fillers. They can provide natural-looking results and typically last between 6 to 12 months. The duration may vary depending on the individual’s metabolism and the specific brand and formulation of the filler used.
Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers stimulate collagen production and can provide longer-lasting results. They typically last up to 18 months, making them a popular choice for areas of the face that require more volume and contouring.
Poly-L-lactic acid fillers are known for their long-lasting effects. These fillers work by stimulating collagen production over time and can provide results that last up to two years or more. They are often used for deep wrinkles and volume loss.
To maintain the results of dermal fillers, follow-up treatments are usually recommended. Regular touch-up sessions can help to prolong the effects of the fillers and ensure that the desired results are maintained for a longer period of time.
Proper aftercare is essential to maximize the longevity of dermal filler results. It is important to follow the post-treatment instructions provided by the provider, which may include avoiding excessive sun exposure, refraining from strenuous exercise, and using recommended skincare products.
The choice of provider for dermal filler injections also plays a significant role in the duration of the results. It is important to choose a qualified and experienced provider who understands the intricacies of facial aesthetics and can tailor the treatment to individual needs. A skilled provider will use the appropriate type of filler and injection technique to achieve the best and longest-lasting results.

]]>Dermal fillers have become increasingly popular in the world of cosmetic procedures, as they offer a non-surgical solution to combat the signs of aging. Many people are turning to dermal fillers to restore volume, reduce wrinkles, and enhance their natural beauty. However, before deciding to undergo a dermal filler treatment, it’s crucial to understand how much do dermal fillers cost and what factors involved that can influence it.
Dermal fillers are injectable substances that are used to plump up the skin, smooth out wrinkles, and restore lost volume. They are typically made from various materials, such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, or calcium hydroxylapatite. These fillers are injected into specific areas of the face to target fine lines, deep wrinkles, and creases.
Dermal fillers work by replenishing the natural substances present in the skin that diminish over time, leading to the signs of aging. For example, hyaluronic acid fillers add volume and moisture to the skin, resulting in a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. The injection of these fillers stimulates collagen production, which further enhances the skin’s elasticity and firmness.
The cost of dermal fillers can vary depending on several factors, including the type of filler used, the expertise of the provider, the location of the clinic, and the number of syringes required for the treatment. The cost of dermal fillers like Juvederm and Restylane varies based on several factors, making it difficult to pinpoint a definitive price without specific context. Generally, the pricing is influenced by the specific product within each brand’s lineup, the region or city where the treatment is provided, the expertise and reputation of the administering professional, and the amount of product required for the desired outcome.
Both Juvederm and Restylane offer a range of products, each designed for different areas of the face and with varying longevity, which can also affect the cost. Additionally, periodic promotions or package deals can alter prices. Given the myriad of factors at play, it’s essential to consult directly with clinics or practitioners, such as East Valley Dental Professionals, to get accurate and current pricing tailored to individual needs.
Several factors can influence the cost of dermal fillers. One of the primary factors is the type of filler being used. Dermal fillers made from hyaluronic acid, such as Juvederm and Restylane, tend to have a lower cost compared to fillers made from other materials. The quantity of fillers required to achieve the desired results also impacts the total cost. Additionally, the expertise and reputation of the provider, as well as the location of the clinic, can affect the price.
There are various types of dermal fillers available in the market. Some of the popular ones include Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma, and Sculptra. These fillers offer different benefits and are suitable for different areas of the face. For instance, hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm and Restylane are commonly used to treat nasolabial folds and fine lines, while Voluma is more suitable for restoring volume in the cheeks.
East Valley Dental Professionals’ commitment to offering top-tier cosmetic solutions is evident in their choice of dermal fillers. By incorporating both Juvederm and Restylane into their treatment portfolio, they provide a comprehensive range of options tailored to individual patient needs. After these administrative tasks are complete, the heart of the consultation is the initial assessment. During this phase, the dental professional delves deep into understanding the patient’s needs, evaluating their oral health, and addressing any immediate concerns they might have raised. ]]>Restylane is a powerful tool to help you look and feel younger. It is a safe alternative to Botox that can help reduce wrinkles, remove dark circles under your eyes, and more.
To use Restylane effectively, there are some things you’ll want to know about what it does and how it works. Luckily, we’ve created a guide to answering all of your burning questions about Restylane treatments and what is Restylane used for.
Dermal filler injections are used for several cosmetic purposes. Most significantly, they help eliminate wrinkles and laugh lines. There are several different brands and product types for dermal fillers. To know which type you should use for the best result, consult your doctor.
Restylane is one of the most commonly used brands of dermal filler used for cosmetic treatments. It is a hyaluronic acid-based treatment used to smooth wrinkles and restore facial volume and fullness. Restylane is FDA-approved for cosmetic procedures.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that reduced moisture and helps improve eye function. The purpose of the treatment is to minimize the effects of aging and add volume to the patient’s cheeks and face.
The treatment for Restylane is relatively simple. It involves injecting the product into the designated area. The entire procedure typically lasts between 30 minutes to an hour.
Doctors will decide what product of Restylane to use and what quantity. To make the procedure as easy and painless as possible, local anesthesia may also be used.
You’ll see results from the treatment immediately but most patients see peak results around two weeks after they receive injections.
Restylane gives you a fuller and younger look. It can reduce and prevent signs of aging. It is commonly used for the following purposes.
When used correctly, Restylane should give you a more youthful appearance while maintaining a natural look. Compared to other cosmetic procedures, Restylane is relatively simple and non-invasive.
It works to minimize wrinkles and augment features without making significant changes. After the procedure, patients typically maintain a natural-looking appearance.
Dermal fillers like Restylane are not permanent cosmetic solutions. To maintain the effects of the treatment, you’ll need to come in for additional injections.
Restylane will wear off between 6 to 18 months after your injections. If you receive Restylane for treatment on your lips or hands, it may last for a shorter period of time. Typically, the product will last 3-6 months when used on lips. For treatment in the back of your hands, Restylane can last up to 6 months.
Your doctor can help you determine how frequently you’ll need to receive Restylane treatments for the best results.
There are some guidelines for who can receive Restylane treatments. You may not be able to receive the procedure if you meet any of the following criteria.
One Restylane procedure costs between $275 and $700 dollars. The price of the product is determined by the number of syringes. The ultimate cost will depend on how much product your doctor recommends. Because Restylane is an elective procedure, it is not usually covered by insurance.
The number of treatments needed will vary by patient. The number of injections is dependent on what you’re looking to correct and what you’re doctor recommends. Speak to a specialist to find out what treatment plan is right for you.
Like with any procedure, there are potential side effects to using Restylane. Some side effects include
If you experience any of these symptoms after receiving a Restylane treatment, consult your doctor.

]]>Dermal fillers are small injections made to the soft tissue of the face which fill in various imperfections such as wrinkles, acne scarring, and uneven face structure.
As such, many individuals are interested in exploring dermal fillers to reduce the impact of imperfections and visible signs of aging. What they often find (even after a quick search) is that many different types of fillers exist, and seemingly, each brand has something different to offer.
Depending on your desired outcome, some fillers will be a better choice than others. This is especially true when attributes such as intensity, structure, and longevity are taken into account. To help make finding information on popular dermal fillers a little easier, we have compiled a guide on outlining the most popular and effective categories of filler in addition to the type of effect they are most likely to have.
Even though dermal fillers are made for cosmetic use, it is important to practice caution as you would with any other medical procedure. Use this guide to help inform your decision, but always consult with a trained healthcare provider before determining which is the best decision for you.
Dermal fillers act to fight the signs of aging in areas where we notice it most– the face. Most commonly, dermal fillers can be used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles such as Marionette Lines, eye and forehead wrinkles, and even deep Nasolabial wrinkles.
The ultimate success of dermal fillers rests in ensuring you choose the right material for the type of structure you would like to add to your skin. As the options for fillers are plentiful, this can sometimes be a challenging process and even involve some trial and error.
While all dermal fillers share some level of similarity in regaining lost facial volume, some materials are better for deep lines while others are better for mild firming. The following list reflects some of the most common FDA approved dermal filler brands, the materials they incorporate, in addition to the types of cosmetic procedures for which they are best suited.
Even though dermal filler injections are generally regarded as safe and fade over time, you must always keep an eye out for potential allergic reactions.
Ranging from mild to moderate are symptoms such as itching, swelling, redness, and bruising at the site of the injection. These symptoms are normally superficial inconveniences that fade over a relatively short period of time, however, anytime side effects occur it is best to monitor them for any changes. This is because should the symptoms either not resolve or become worse, they might implicate a more serious set of side effects.
Unfortunately, the more severe reactions can create physical illness in addition to potential shifting of leaking of the wrinkle filler material itself. These types of reactions can include trauma at the injection site, nodules under the skin, and even leaking of the dermal filler.
For more information on plastic surgery, there are many resources available. Among the most comprehensive can be found through patient safety materials released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in addition to discussing your cosmetic options with your healthcare provider.
Finding the right provider for your dermal fillers depends on the extent of change you desire. For cases of more involved restructuring, it is best to go to a board certified plastic surgeon. In cases where you would like to fill out thin lips or reduce the appearance of lines, going to a local provider can give you the results you desire at a cost effective rate.
Established in the 1980s, EVDP takes great pride in having clients receive the best dental care and the best service. ]]>Dermal fillers have been in use for some time now, helping many people with wrinkles, crow’s feet, recessed scars, and thin lips. As we age, we slowly begin to lose the subcutaneous fat cells that support the structure of our faces, leading to the subtle signs of aging we all associate with growing older. Some people lose this fat layer sooner than others, and many factors can contribute to the loss of facial volume. Of these, overexposure to the damaging rays of the sun can be one of the most important, but other factors like heredity and age play important parts as well. Dermal fillers are injected into the face and lips, restoring the look of fullness we associate with youth. They can also help increase the benefits of rejuvenation surgery. Even though treatment with dermal fillers is usually well-tolerated by most individuals, as with any medical procedure, they have their share of side effects. These include:
Allergic reactions are the most common form of side effects associated with dermal fillers. They can include swelling, redness, bruising, and pain at the injection site. These reactions can pass quickly or last longer, depending on the individual’s body chemistry. In addition, redness and swelling can be just a normal reaction to receiving facial injections, in this case, the symptoms will usually get better within a few hours.
Another fairly common side effect of dermal fillers is the formation of tiny bumps under the skin. These bumps can sometimes be permanent. Again, your own body chemistry can react to the type of fillers used, leading to tiny bumps or lumpiness near the sites of the injections.
Known as the Tyndall effect, and named for the scientist who described it, this side effect is the result of a dermal filler that is not injected far enough under the skin. If it is not injected deeply enough, the clear gel of the dermal filler will appear bluish when light reflects through it.
The death of skin cells is a rare side effect of having dermal filler injections. It normally only occurs when something goes wrong and an infection develops at or near the injection site. And it can sometimes occur when the skin is significantly damaged as a result of the procedure. This side effect happens most often when injections take place in the center of the forehead, where “frown lines” are most common, and when the fillers are injected near the lips. This side effect can cause scarring, and it can require additional treatment.
Occurring much less often on the spectrum of side effect frequency, blindness has been reported as a very rare side effect of dermal filler injections. Dermal fillers have not been approved for injection around the eyes, and when they are used to fill wrinkles under the eye, the fillers can make their way through the small blood vessels into the eye’s artery, blocking the blood supply.
Like blindness, nerve paralysis is a very rare side effect of dermal filler injections. Dermal fillers like Botox and Myobloc work because they are a pure form of botulism toxin, causing a minor form of temporary muscle paralysis. But the botulism toxin can move to cause muscle paralysis in muscle groups for which it is not intended. If it travels to the throat or respiratory muscles, difficulty in swallowing could develop.
It is important to note that, even with this list of possible side effects, dermal fillers are used by millions of people without any adverse side effects at all. The key to their safe use is the practitioner you choose to administer them. Choosing a trained and experienced professionals to give you dermal filler treatment is probably the most important step you can take to ensure that you will not experience problems. To this end, here are some hints that can help you get the treatment you need.
Dermal fillers can be a great way to bring out your youthful appearance. And when you take some common-sense precautions, the benefits of dermal fillers will far outweigh any side effects.
